Western Isles

The MV Western Isles working from Mallaig, gives you the chance to see the stunning and remote scenery of Scotland’s amazing West Coast also known as “Europe’s Last Wilderness”.  Two sailings a day leave Mallaig at 10.15 in the morning and 2.15 in the afternoon.  The ferry runs 7 days a week from April to October (Monday-Sunday). The journey for Western Isles takes approximately 45 minutes.  The return timing to Mallaig is approx. 7.00pm.  The ticket price is £15 return for adults and children from 5-15yrs are half price, children under 5yrs are free and dogs are also welcomed on board at no charge.

 We are an 81 passenger vessel so we have plenty of space for larger groups and we can also transport Push bikes and Kayaks.

 The Western Isles also has comfortable undercover seating in case of bad weather, we also have a fully stocked bar and toilets on board.

Alternatively, private water taxi may be an option. Generally, a trip from Mallaig to Inverie will cost in the order of £60 although price can depend on numbers and luggage. Many boats will also offer charters further afield. You may wish to check that? operators and their vessels are licensed and coded (we believe they are at time of publication).
